Adventures: Wonderful winter in the Dolomites
How nice it is to be a child again, to be enchanted by the fluffy snowflakes, to laugh as you sled down, to dream in the white fairytale landscapes where the sunlight, reflecting off the snow crystals, radiates a thousand colours. And then come back as an adult, warming yourself with a mulled wine or bombardino after conquering one of the endless breathtaking slopes.
Where to ski in Pozza and Val di Fassa, also with children?
Skiing in Val di Fassa is the most popular activity.
Perhaps this is why in the refuges of the many kilometres of slopes of the Dolomiti Superski area, the most popular dish is precisely that of the skier - egg, speck and potatoes?
Skiing in the Dolomites of Trentino - South Tyrol is a real pleasure! In the Val di Fassa 7 ski areas with about 200 km of perfectly prepared and sunny slopes for all tastes and abilities are waiting for you. If you want to spend your exciting skiing holiday in Pozza di Fassa to the full, with the Dolomiti Superski ski pass you can explore more than 500 km of spectacular peaks around the Sella group.
There are two main possibilities for skiing very close to our apartments:
- Skiing at Catinaccio-Rosengarten area (Ciampedìe):
The ski area can be reached by the Vajolet chairlift in Pera di Fassa, 450 metres from our apartments, or by the Catinaccio cable car in the village of Vigo, 3 km from our house. This small ski area is very well equipped for beginners. The slopes are almost never crowded and are ideal for skiing with children in Val di Fassa in the Kingdom of King Laurin and having fun in the beautiful large snow playground - Kinderpark Ciampedìe (perhaps the best in the entire Val di Fassa) in front of spectacular peaks.
Skiing on the slopes of Catinaccio-Rosengarten is the perfect choice for the first day of your ski week in Pozza di Fassa to get used to the altitude and prepare your legs for the new peaks during the following days. Expert skiers can try their hand at the famous Tomba black slope in this area.
- Skiing at Buffaure-Ciampac area:
This ski area with 22 km of slopes of all difficulties, equipped with a modern cable car, is located 1 km from our house. All our guests love skiing at Buffaure for the breathtaking views of the Catinaccio, Sassolungo and Sassopiatto. They always tell us about their adventures on the perfect, sunny slopes, they boast of having skied the adrenaline-filled Vulcano slope and enthusiastically describe the day that ended in beauty in the modern and elegant après ski restaurant Dolomites Geyser, located almost at the base of the slope back to Pozza di Fassa.
Even children skiing at Buffaure are always excited about a beautiful high-altitude school camp where they learn to ski while having fun with the competent instructors of Vajolet ski school in Pozza di Fassa.
The latter area, Buffaure-Ciampac, is connected to the slopes of the world-famous Sellaronda, which is certainly a big plus for you because the Sellaronda is the ski tour in the Dolomites that any skier dreams of.
Our flats are located in the centre of Val di Fassa. Within 10-15 minutes by car (or thanks to the convenient ski bus service that stops 20 metres away) you can ski on the famous Belvedere in Canazei with numerous slopes with spectacular views of medium difficulty, or set off directly for Sellaronda ski tour with the Col Rodella cable car to Campitello.
If you are a skier with little experience but a great desire to have fun on the snow of Val di Fassa in safety, dedicate your skiing day to Carezza ski area, ideal for beginner skiers due to the prevalence of easy and comfortable blue slopes. You will be able to enjoy unsurpassed views of the Catinaccio and Latemar peaks from every point and cuddle up under the splendid alpine sun as you ski down and up.
During your ski holidays in our apartments in Pozza di Fassa you can also explore the Tre Valli ski area with a total of more than 100 km of slopes above the villages of Moena, Bellamonte and Falcade. The slopes of Passo San Pellegrino and Alpe Lusia in the Tre Valli ski area are suitable for skiers of all levels, and are particularly suitable for families with children to venture out on impeccably wide, long, very beautiful, sunny slopes and enjoy the sense of absolute freedom and vastness.
New day - new trails, nice, isn't it?

For avid skiers, on Wednesdays and Fridays from 7.30 p.m. to 10 p.m. the famous Aloch slope is open (you can see it from the windows of some of our apartments), which hosts the training sessions of the Italian national Alpine skiing team right in the centre of Pozza di Fassa, 1 km from our residence.
The ski lifts in Val di Fassa are already open at the beginning of December: many skiing adventures are waiting for you during your skiing holidays in our comfortable apartments in Val di Fassa. Very often our guests who come skiing in Val di Fassa for the first time ask us how much a ski pass in Val di Fassa costs. The price depends on the type of skipass: if you are an expert skier who wants to do the Sellaronda and other ski tours in the Dolomites, we recommend the Dolomiti Superski skipass, which includes 1200 km of slopes; for intermediate skiers or families with children it is often sufficient to opt for the Val di Fassa-Carezza skipass.
Would you like to try cross-country skiing in Val di Fassa?
You can do this in front of our Residence in the picturesque Ciancoal, a cross-country skiing centre in Pozza di Fassa with rings of varying degrees of difficulty.
